About Coaching

Do you want to make a change and don't know where to begin?

Are you sick of working all the time and not have a life?

Are you tired of being in pain all the time?

At one point, do you ask a question: "What's going on here?"

  1. What is life coaching? Just like you would hire an accountant to do your taxes, you would hire a life coach to make positive changes in your life. Coaches are trained to bring about transformation and help you to:
    • clarify desires, needs, and values
    • develop action plans to implement more of what you want into your life
    • remove blocks that are holding you back from having what you want In addition, coaches allow for a neutral, third-party viewpoint that can give you consistent support, guidance and accountability that you don't often get working on your own or with friends and family.

  2. What is the difference between coaching and therapy? Therapy focuses typically on the past and WHY, while coaching focuses on moving forward and HOW. Coaching clients appreciate how they can take ideas or insights and turn them into action plans that lead to immediate beneficial changes in their lives.

  3. What is your coaching methodology? There are several things that contribute to my coaching skills:
    • I am an integral, trained, and Certified Life Coach through Certified Coaches Federation. I have a solid and time-proven philosophy which guides Certified Coaches, and procedures and processes Coaches use in place to maximize client growth and progress. I am trained to partner with my clients to create true and lasting transformation. I see each person as unique, distinctive, exceptional, and valuable.
    • I have been a "self-improvement expert" in my own private life. I enjoyed self-study and registered myself in many disciplines outside of school when I was young. I graduated as the top student at high school, and I was privileged to study at one of the top universities in China. Self-improvement is my second nature. When I first worked at HYSTA, I had never attended an event before. Within a half year, I organized its inaugurated week-long international event at Pebble Beach with one thousand participants. I also created and developed an event-production and event-management system.
    • I have experienced significant "changes" and "transitions" in my career. My career expanded to multiply industries and several different businesses, as you can see from my bio. If you draw a matrix, of consumer oriented vs. commercial oriented, high - tech vs. financial, for-profit vs. non-profit, American mainstream vs. Chinese community, big corporation vs. small enterprises, working in the US vs. working in China, I hit all the areas. Those experiences help me to understand what my clients are going through, and to compassionately build strategies and solutions to help them get where they want to go.
    • I am passionate about inspiring people and accomplishing a common goal. If you put those two talents together, you have a great coach! I discovered these talents while I was working with non-profit organizations, creating signature events for them, when compensation was no longer the means to motivate people.
    • My creativity was nurtured when I was chosen to take enrichment classes at district level art school in my elementary years. My appreciation for art and music helped me journey through many dark days in my life. Creativity is a key for coaching, and helping people tap into their own art, imagination and inspiration is one of my true passions and skills.
    • I have lived it! I have gone through my own transformation in life, in many areas, building a life around things I value. I have great relationships, two wonderful children, work-life balance, and a business I love.
    • Why should be work-life balance?
      • Because of my own struggle and victory, as you can read in my bio.
      • Because I have witnessed my colleagues, friends, and people around me, for many years, struggle with work-life balance and have seen the impact of not having a balance over the long term.
      • Because I see the difference of never figuring it out and not having enough time for you, versus making what you really want a priority, and living a full life.

  4. Where do the coaching sessions take place? According to statistics, 95% of life coaching is done over the phone. Normally the first session is done through face-to-face, and then the rest sessions are conducted by phone unless specifically requested.

  5. Can I receive a complimentary initial consultation? Absolutely. I will have an initial consultation with my clients prior to beginning our working together. During that initial consultation we can address any questions or concerns you might have about the process and my approach to coaching. Click here to receive your complimentary consultation.
